About

We would be happy to provide a quote for a new computer. Feel free to Reach Out Here or submit a New Workstation Request and we'll jump right on it!

If you would like to purchase a computer yourself, we won't be able to offer any guarantees or specific recommendations, but here are some general workstation standards for reference. Software, organization needs, regulations, changes in technology, etc. may require deviation from these standards. If you're looking for us to help pick one out, then the best way to do that is to purchase the computer through us.

Business-Grade

Buying a computer for business is a little different than for personal use. It's important to purchase a business-grade computer. Consumer and low-grade computers often cost organizations more in the long run than buying a reasonably priced business-grade one.

In addition, low-grade computers often have components that are not compatible with modern workplace hardware. For example, watch out for laptops with USB-C ports that are not Thunderbolt capable. They can have difficulty charging and connecting to monitors and/or docking stations at the same time.

The CPU/processor type can also cause issues if you pick the wrong one. The processor defines the architecture that runs the operating system itself (i.e., not all versions of Windows/MacOS are the same). If it's the wrong one, it can make it very difficult to run common programs.

Buying computers off open marketplaces, like Amazon, can also be risky without the proper due-diligence. We have seen customers purchase "new" computers only to find out they were either a very outdated model or have been refurbished/spoofed and made to look like new.
