Tell If Your Email Is Set to POP Instead of IMAP

This article will help tell you whether or not your emails are only locally stored on your Outlook app or if they're also syncing to the cloud.

Instructions

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Go to file and look for the line under your email address

  3. If your account says "POP/SMTP" that means your emails aren't syncing to the server.
    1. If it says "IMAP/SMTP" or "Microsoft Exchange" then your emails are syncing to the server. 
    2. "IMAP/SMTP" does not sync contacts or calendar.
