How to setup your VPN on your computer
Prerequisites
You will need your sign in information:
- Connection Name: However you want to remember the connection
- Server or Address: Provided by us
- Pre-Shared Key: Provided by us
- Username (Optional): Provided by us
- Password (Optional): Provided by us
Windows 10 Setup and Connection
Windows 10: Setup
- Select the Windows button and type "VPN"
- Select "VPN Settings"
- Select "Add a VPN Connection"
- Enter the Information we provided and click save.
- VPN Provider: Windows (built-in)
- Connection Name: However you want to remember the connection
- Server or Address: Provided by us
- VPN Type: L2TP/IPsec with Pre-Shared Key
- Pre-Shared Key: Provided by us
- Type of Sign In Info: User name and Password
- Username (Optional): Provided by us, only enter here if you don't want to re-enter it every time
- Password (Optional): Provided by us, only enter here if you don't want to re-enter it every time
Setup Windows Authentication Setup
Go to Control Panel > Network & Sharing settings > Change Adapter Settings.
Right-click the L2TP adapter, then go to Properties > Security.
Under Type of VPN, select Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol with IPsec.
Click Advanced Settings. Select preshared key for authentication and enter it.
Make sure to have the option of Allow these protocols enabled and mark the checkbox for Check Microsoft CHAP Version 2 (MS-CHAP v2), as shown in the screenshot below.

Windows 10: Turn on VPN
Through Internet/WiFi Icon
- Click on the Internet/WiFi Icon
- Click on the connection, and click "Connect"
- When you are done, click "Disconnect"
Through Settings
- Select the Windows button and type "VPN"
- Select "VPN Settings"
- Click Connect on the VPN connection and click Connect
- When you are done, click disconnect
Mac Setup and Connection
Mac Setup
- Go to System Preferences > Network
- Click the + button on the bottom left
- Interface: VPN
- VPN Type: L2TP over IPsec
- In Authentication Settings enter the Pre-Shared Key
- Under the "Advanced" section, make sure that "Send All Traffic Over VPN" is selected or Remote Desktop may not connect.
